Nostell February 2018

Go wild on half-term Mondays, making sticky bird feeders for our feathered friends. FREE, but you’ll need a gardens ticket (National Trust members free).

12th and 19th Feb

As nature wakes up from winter, make some nutritious goodies for the birds in your garden. With plenty of lard, seeds and pine cones, you’ll have lots of messy fun and help the birds build up their energy in the colder months too!

Whilst you’re here, why not take a wander through the gardens and see how many species you can spot? This is a great activity for littlies under 7 but all ages welcome.

February half-term: wild Tuesdays

13th Feb

Celebrate National Nest Box Week on Tuesdays this half-term by building a home for the birds in your garden. Natural nest sites for birds such as holes in trees or old buildings are disappearing fast. At Nostell, we’ll have all the wood and tools you’ll need to craft a home for the feathered friends in your garden. You’ll learn woodcraft skills at the same time as helping with vital bird conservation. Suitable for children age 5 and over. £2 per person, no booking needed. You’ll need a gardens ticket (National Trust members free).

February half-term: cycle Wednesdays

14th and 21st Feb

Bring your bikes on Wednesdays to head out on a two-wheeled adventure in the parkland. We’ve two bike-only cycle trails through beautiful woodland that are perfect for families. Choose from the green route, great for little legs or the blue route with a few more ups and downs for a bit more of a challenge. Why not have a go at cycle orienteering? Pick up your map from the ticket office. Pick up a map from the welcome cabin or ticket office and head out along the parkland trails. FREE.

February half-term: creative crafts FREE, but you’ll need a gardens ticket (National Trust members free).

15th, 16th, 22nd, 23rd 11am-3pm

Be inspired by the changing seasons and get creative with today’s craft activities. Take a wander around the gardens to find colours, textures and shapes that inspire you and then get your creative juices going with hands-on creative crafts.
