Parents Wakefield

Adoption & Fostering

During these challenging times, many people have been furloughed or know someone who has. Working from home, juggling home life and home-schooling with their children. It has made all of us think differently about work. Some people are thinking about a change of career or a different pace of life. All of us are thinking about the things that really matter.

We have an army of amazing foster carers who foster for Wakefield. But the sad realisation is that the number of children in care in the Wakefield district will always outweigh the foster carer provision we can provide. Suitable foster carers come from all walks of life, but they all have one thing in common – a big heart and the determination to make a positive difference to a child’s life.

The team, alongside our carers, are still working round the clock to help keep the children of Wakefield safe. Why not join us?

If you are interested in fostering or would just like to know more – complete an enquiry form on our website www.wakefield.gov.uk/fostering where a member of our team will give you a call back at a time that suits you.

Thank you.
