Spring has sprung at Hull’s award-winning aquarium The Deep, and it’s time to learn about new life in the oceans. Farmer Copley’s Easter Festival 2018

The Easter Festival starts on Bank Holiday Monday the 2nd April through to Friday the 6th April.

Open daily 10:00 am until 4:00 pm hosting bottle feeding lambs 10:30 am, 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm in the barn just above the duck pond near the farm shop.

You can also hold an Easter Chick, a real one, under supervision from one of the team.

There is also a free Easter Trail, with a chocolate gift for every child.

Providing the weather is dry we will also have the Jumping Pillow, Giant Slide, Barrel Ride, Peddle Carts and the UK’s only JUMP PAD open.

You and your toddlers have the full use of the park without older kids so they have more space and can play as they learn, building confidence at their own pace. There are other toddlers around too so it’s good to mix.

At the National Coal Mining Museum, we’ve got great ideas for all the family this Easter!


Join us at the Museum for lots of fun activities and meet our living history characters.

  • Meet our living history characters 30th March – April 15th.
  • Easter Easter egg hunt. Pick up a trail sheet from reception.
  • Visit us on 21st April for Yorkshire Geology Day – meet the experts from the Yorkshire Geological Society, enjoy hands-on activities and book a special underground tour.
  • Family activities will be on Friday 30th March – 6th April and 9th -13th April 12.30-4pm.
    We are in the Activities room. Activities will be – Design a Flag for 30th anniversary completion and design a poster linked to Say It Loud.

Go wild on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays
From making mud gardens to campfire cooking and creating clay creatures, you’ll find plenty to do for both mini-adventurers on Mondays and explorers over 5 years on Tuesdays. On Wednesdays, all ages can explore the gardens and parkland looking for spring wildlife.

Get creative on Thursdays and Fridays
Roll up your sleeves and discover the designer in you in a Dovetail, Biscuit, Splat workshop, inspired by Thomas Chippendale. The famous designer and furniture-maker would have been 300 this year and to celebrate, you can take inspiration from the Chinese decorations he supplied for Nostell and create your own wallpaper using 18th-century techniques.

Intro to trail cycling sessions on Sunday 8 April. You can join an expert from Trail Advantage to pick up top tips for riding off-road, mastering cornering and building your confidence to take all the family mountain biking. Only £1 per person, book your place on 01924 863892.

Rich and Fancy Cupcakes Junior Easter Baking Club 2018

X Buzz Wire: test your nerve and concentration skills. Guide the wire around the X without it touching the edges.

Swap the Balls: designed to test your agility and focus. Move balls from one container into another.

Tower Transfer: steady hands at the ready. Build a tower out of blocks.

Working with thread artist Hayley Mills-Styles you will use fabric to create a footprint collage that tells a story about your world and what you would like to change. This fun drop-in workshop takes inspiration from the Arts Council Collection Touring Exhibition In My Shoes: Art and the Self since the 1990s and coincides with YSP’s Voice for Change event.

– The day runs from 12.00–16.00
– This event is open to all but is especially suitable for families with children aged 5 to 11

Hidden Forest Open Days

Adventure awaits in the Hidden Forest, our outdoor space for our youngest visitors. Jump, laugh, make, sing, and explore your right to play. Enjoy this magical space and spend time together beneath the trees at YSP.

Move, Make and Meditate on Slow Art Day

To celebrate Slow Art Day, take time to look slowly at Chiharu Shiota’s installation Beyond Time in the Chapel.

On our way to the Chapel we will take a mindful walk using all our senses. We will also enjoy some creative activities, try family yoga, and end with a meditation to calm and focus the mind.

A lovely way to participate in Slow Art Day for anyone aged 6 to 106!
