Welcome to 2019 and a huge hello from a new Wakefield Mumbler Family!
Some of you may know that Heather put Wakefield Mumbler up for sale and just before Christmas all was signed and sealed!!
Wakefield Mumbler wasn’t born when I had Mini Mumbler and I remember searching the internet whilst I was pregnant, and he was a newborn, trying to plan an activity or class for each day! It was hard, and I remember thinking I wish there was a local website with everything in one place! 18 months later, Heather launched Wakefield Mumbler! WHAT A BRILLIANT WEBSITE!
Heather approached me earlier in the year and told me of her plan to put Wakefield Mumbler up for sale. At the time I was too busy with work and only half thought about it! After a very busy summer (I organise music festivals and concerts) I knew something in my work life needed to change as I had literally been at home for 3 weeks between May and September and was missing Mini Mumbler and my husband immensely but didn’t want to give up my job! And then all the jigsaw pieces seemed to fit together; I would run Wakefield Mumbler, I would get to spend more time at home and I still get to organise festivals!
It’s the start of 2019 and here I am, the new Wakefield Mrs Mumbler, Vicki Smith
I live in Horbury and I am Mummy to a very energetic 3.5 year old (aka Mini Mumbler). I really do love living in Wakefield and feel very proud to live in this amazing city with so many things to do with my family and I can’t wait to share these with you and help make your family life that little bit easier!
You may recognise me from Wakefield NCT as I have been an active volunteer since Mini Mumbler was born; whether running around the Nearly New Sale, saying hello at antenatal classes or posting lots on social media. I am also really proud to say that I have helped raise over £12.7k for NCT!
So, with my knowledge of the local area, what I have learnt volunteering and my 15 years’ experience as an Events Organiser I hope to bring you and your family many amazing experiences with Wakefield Mumbler!
Finally, I would like to thank Heather for all the work and love she has put into Wakefield Mumbler over the last 2.5 years! She was the one who started this community and seen it grow. I’m sure you will be proud of the next phase in Wakefield Mumbler’s journey!
I hope you all have an amazing 2019 and are able to make those changes that you are dreaming of now!
