“Due the unprecedented and turbulent times presented when Covid 19 hit, we attended panel in a different way to most. We were instead represented at panel by our supportive social worker Liz. She was able to do this through the well-prepared questions she had asked and subsequently, the honest answers which we provided.
It was to our delight that we passed and within 2 weeks – as I had to hand in my notice at the time – we now have two lovely boys placed with us. They are aged 3 and 7 and have bought warmth and laughter into our household. We have enjoyed sharing this journey with them as we discover meals that they like, their interests and their dislikes.
We have enjoyed exploring with them – on foot and on bike stopping at playgrounds and activity spots along the way. The boys are now in a good routine and are excited to be read to at bedtime.
They have settled in well and it is now difficult to remember a time when the boys weren’t here! They have adjusted brilliantly to our lifestyle. Obviously, there has been some problems along the way, but these have been managed well through star charts, patience, and empathy. The journey so far has been unforgettable, and we can’t wait to make more memories through fostering!”
