2. Stockeld Park Spring Adventure

4. Creepy Crawlies, Web Adventure Park
A day filled with adventure awaits at the Web Adventure Park. The May Half Term event is running from Saturday 28th May until Sunday 5th June and with all-day tickets available, hours of fun are guaranteed. Go for as long as you please with unlimited goes on the 12 exciting fairground rides, visit our friendly animals at the petting farm, cool off at the water zone, dig in our huge sandpit, and bounce on our 2 brand-new bouncing pillows! Dazzling Darren will also be hosting his spectacular magic and entertainment shows 3 times a day, every day.
Inside, children can let off some steam by running around our huge soft play area and whizzing down the slides. A ninja course, an under 5’s area, a baby sensory zone, a disco room, and ball cannons are also indoors. So much to explore, for children of all ages. With everything included in one ticket, it’s a full day of excitement whatever the weather.

5. Skelf Island Adventure Playground at Castle Howard
Castle Howards’s treetop adventure playground connects high up wooden nests with rope bridges, slides, nets and climbing equipment that cross the Great Lake.
You can also explore the woodland paths, play hide and seek in the Walled Garden or take a picnic by the lake!

6. Grass Hoppers Indoor & Outdoor Playground
Hop along to Grass Hoppers Indoor & Outdoor Play at Tong Garden Centre for a proper playtime. Have a bounce on the jumping pillows, zoom down the zip wire, glide down the slides, explore our giant fort, drive around the race tracks, enjoy the soft play inside and much more!
Grass Hoppers is set in a secure environment with outdoor seating, although we welcome picnics, we still have our delicious selection of hot food available.

7. Whistlestop Valley
It’s half term so let the kids run off some steam at Whistlestop Valley. There’s something for everyone at this day out in the heart of Yorkshire: steam trains, outdoor playgrounds, a covered jumping pillow, miniature ride on railway, stone baked pizzas, dessert parlour and indoor activity area for the small ones.
Whistlestop Valley is home to a 15” narrow gauge railway set in the South Pennine foothills, only 20 minutes from the centre of Wakefield. You can either buy tickets for Big Adventures (includes return train ride to Shelley) or Little Adventures and enjoy the activities at Clayton West.

8. The Tropical Butterfly House
Daily animal encounters give you the chance to see and learn about the habitat and lifestyle of lemurs, meerkats, owls, otters, snakes, and other amazing creatures! Pick up a feed pack at the entrance and give the animals a snack as you find them around the zoo. The park includes a dinosaur trail, wilderness walk, adventure playground and splash & play area.

9. Lotherton
Visit Lotherton for Spring half term as we delve into stories old and new and travel around the world in 80 stories. There will be stories for all ages, excitement and adventure around the estate for families to get involved in. With crafts, storytellers and lots of fun.
The expansive grounds and gardens are lovely walking spots, with or without four-legged companions. Each season brings new surprises including wild garlic in the spring, a sea of colourful blooms in summer in the formal gardens and stunning autumnal colours later on in the year.
The two playgrounds mean there’s plenty of space for running about and letting off steam, with zip wires for older children to enjoy.
The evolving zoo, Wildlife World, is a real highlight and visitors can see the Humboldt penguins splash and swim in their pool. Other colourful characters include Arthur the tapir, porcupines and a flamboyance of pink flamingos.
