Nordic Walking – Enjoy an exciting exercise session in the great outdoors!
Nordic walking is a suitable, effective and an enjoyable fitness session for all ages and abilities and is one of the best cardiovascular and toning exercises there is. It’s like cross-country skiing without the skis or the snow!
Using the technique ensures a great exercise session for improving your posture and balance – it is ideal for neck, shoulder and back problems and also reduces the pressure on knees and hips through the support of the poles.
The Health Improvement Team host the following FREE weekly Nordic walking sessions:
Thornes Park stadium, meet at Reception 1:30pm
Frickley Country Park, meet at Main car park 1:30pm
Savile Park – Castleford, meet at Cricket club car park 9:30am
Nostell Priory, meet at the top car park 10am
Pontefract Park, meet at the playground car park 1:30pm
Walton Colliery Nature Park, meet at the main car park 9:30am
Pugneys Country Park, meet at Reception 1:30pm
Newmillerdam, meet at the main car park 1pm
