Mumbler Cat and her baby girl, Isla checked out Bloom Wakefield Baby Classes … here’s what they thought!!
Recently me and Isla attended the Caterpillar Baby Class run by Emma from Bloom.
This class is aimed at baby’s aged 6 weeks to 6 months; Emma also runs a Busy Bee class which is aimed at 6 -15 month old babies.
The 45 minute class follows the same format every week, the repetition helps babies to develop and progress.
We start with tummy time, this is something Isla isn’t usually a fan of, but she was very happy lying on the colourful caterpillar and looking at all the lights. Next we move onto dancing, movement and this weeks theme which is sleep (something we are not getting a lot of at the moment – thank you 4 month sleep regression!)
Now it’s time for the lights to go down and babies to relax with a calming massage.
Through out the class, I love that Emma explains the benefits of each activity for baby and parent.
I really enjoyed that the class was a mixture of sensory and relaxation. The activities move on quickly, so if there’s something your baby doesn’t like, you can just move to the next activity. I could see that Isla was enjoying it and I picked up ideas for sensory play at home.
And the best bit… within 5 minutes of finishing the class, Isla was fast asleep, allowing me to enjoy a coffee and cake. For me this shows how much Isla enjoyed the class!!
