Yorkshire Sculpture Park: October half term

Owl-o-Ween at YSP – it should be a hoot!

Half term is the perfect time to visit Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Enjoy fun family activities including a spooky Owl-o-Ween walking trail, all designed to keep the kids entertained for hours.

Indoor and outdoor activities have been organised to make the most of YSP’s stunning setting and facilities. The unique Owl-o-Ween Trail will leave the kids rosy-cheeked as they race to find the mysterious stone owl that once sat on top of Lady Eglington’s Well. Its location is a mystery – starting at the YSP Centre, there will be clues dotted around the grounds to follow, featuring unusual and mythical creatures. Follow a trail of pumpkins, braving a two-headed bear and gigantic rabbit, enter secret shelters to see if you can solve the mystery of where the elusive owl is perched.

Other outdoor fun includes family adventures and sculpture building in the Hidden Forest, family-friendly seasonal walks, so there is something for everyone.

If the weather is looking a bit iffy, don’t be put off. YSP has several indoor activities planned too. There will be storytelling in the Chapel and, to fire up young imaginations, some fabulous and fun dressing-up in the Project Space in the Underground Gallery, inspired by Erwin Wurm’s exhibition. Wurm is an artist known for his quirky sense of humour and use of everyday objects such as hot water bottles, handbags and even sausages in his work.
