Curious Collectors – Thursday 26 October

If you were making a museum, what would you fill it with? Everyday objects or wonders and weirdness?

Join us to explore curious collections from Wakefield Museum and Castles’ 100 Years of Collecting.

Craft a colourful 3D model of the things that matter to you!

  • 10.30 – 11.30am and 1 – 2pm
  • Ages 6 – 11

Mini Curious Collectors – Wednesday 1 November

Join us for an interactive storytelling workshop all about sorting and collecting!

Take part in a special story. Get hands-on sorting and arranging different materials and objects.

Help us build a mini museum of precious things. Make a treasure box to show off your own special collections.

  • 10.30 – 11.30am and 1.30 – 2.30pm
  • Ages 2 – 5

  • Free and no booking required

A Museum for the Future: Lino Printing workshop – Thursday 2 November   

We’re designing a Museum for the Future – and we need your help!

Posters are used to promote messages for protest as well as publicity.

Join us to explore powerful posters in our collection.

Learn how to use lino printing create your own striking poster for a Museum of the Future.

Let’s Make Gingerbread! – Friday 3 November 

Join us for some sugar, spice and all things nice!

Explore old objects used to bake tasty treats in the past. Smell a variety of spices and learn about their uses. Work together to make your own gingerbread mix to take home and bake.
