This service provides specialist care for pregnant women and new mothers. Pregnancy and childbirth is a uniquely vulnerable time for women where there is a substantially increased risk of developing an episode of mental illness – the most likely time in a woman’s life. This service improves access to appropriate specialist interventions from specially trained staff.
The service is for women who are experiencing more severe mental health needs and can be accessed by referral from your GP or health professional.
For women with mild to moderate needs they can self-refer to the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) provided by Turning Point Talking Therapies. Contact details below:
