Marmalade on the Square

***Wakefield MUMbler Recommends***

“We’ve been to marmalade on the square before with our 3-year-old and newborn and the staff are very friendly and they also had colouring-in sheets and crayons that were free to use which kept my 3 year old busy.” LH Sept 2016

After reading the recommendation form a MUMbler, My husband and I took our three-year-old on a Saturday Morning….

We loved it! They had small chairs, which Mini Mumbler thought was amazing. They gave us crayons almost immediately and the staff were all so kind to mini mumbler, who enjoyed all the attention she was receiving!

The food and drinks were fantastic and I resisted the temptation for the cake but writing this now make me want to go back and have some Ferrero Rocher Cake!

Whilst we were there a lady struggled through the door on her own with her baby in a pram, the staff didn’t hesitate to help her. There was a lovely atmosphere throughout.

There is only one loo, but inside it was exceptionally clean, had a baby change, spare wipes and nappy bags. Not to mention the gorgeous smelling hand wash and lotion.

Since my visit even more people have recommended this cafe to me, a must visit if you’re in Wakefield Town centre.

The Hepworth Cafe 2018

The newly refurbished Hepworth Cafe is the first Wakefield business to be recognised for their family-friendly efforts by Wakefield Mumbler.

Under the new ownership of Masterchef finalist and Wakefield Business Award winner Chris Hale of Pop Up North and his wife Sophie of Evoke Media Group, in partnership with Chris Ball and Shanshan Zhu who also own the popular House of Koko in Chapel Allerton.

“I’d been to the Hepworth Cafe with my eldest daughter prior to the change of ownership, and I found it to be a bit pricey and I felt a bit out of place with my toddler. The new team have made the cafe warm and inviting. There are toys and books for the children, the staff are lovely and very welcoming when you have little ones. The children’s Bento boxes are perfect for fussy eaters too. I found the staff very helpful and the cafe had everything I needed with a pre-schooler and baby in tow!” Wakefield Mumbler 2018
