Join us this October half term as we celebrate Black History Month, where families can have a go at making African-inspired fabric wall hangings inspired by the new exhibition, Digging Deep, as well as creating and decorating a miner’s helmet in a carnival style.
Journey back in time to see what life was like as a 1940s housewife, meeting Peggy Thorpe in Parkinson’s Yard, or head over to the Pithead Baths and meet Fred the bath attendant, delving into the history of working as a miner.
Pop into our library where we’ll be celebrating International Games Week, where you can come and try your hand at some traditional games!
