It was a good few years before I had my second and it was free so why not?
This was the turning point for me it really helped me as I was suffering with my neck and shoulders due to the stresses of teaching and I felt amazing when I left. I knew I liked them now but who can afford to have regular massages? By my third massage my friend bought us using a Groupon for my birthday, I realised I could do with treating myself and booked myself in for another a month later.
Then I found out I was pregnant with Tiny Mumbler and was told I’d have to cancel – gutted. So I went on a mission to find places in Wakefield that offer pregnancy massages and well the truth is there are a few places that offer some pregnancy treatments but very few that specialise in pregnancy treatments.
I met Rachel through a recommendation. She invited me to her treatment room, her fabulously converted garage at her home in Wakefield. Once in the room you could easily be in a hotel spa, Rachel has really paid attention to the small details to make a warm, relaxing and comfortable space.
Like so many of the female small business owners I meet through Mumbler, Rachel is a mum.
Just like me and many of you, she is trying to get the balance of running a business around her busy family with the end goal of being able to spend more quality time with her son.
By visiting and supporting a small independent therapist like Rachel you are helping her to achieve her dream and she is putting her heart and soul into her business and providing the best experience for her clients, she’s not just an employee and you aren’t just a client.
Rachel has recently invested in a new treatment couch with her pregnant clients in mind, it’s more comfortable, easier to get on and off and wider for when laying on your side.
Her next investment is a special massage cushion that allows a pregnant mother to lay on her front without putting pressure on her bump I’m going to miss out on this one but I can’t wait to hear all about it!
I’ve had various pregnancy treatments with Rachel, legs massages (great from when you start getting leg cramps), back massages (where you lay on your side), facials and my personal favourite the ‘Head in the Clouds’ head neck and shoulder massage.
I would recommend anyone to visit Rachel for massages and other treatments but for pregnant women, in particular, she is providing a truly unique service her in Wakefield.
I know that money can be tight saving up for maternity leave and buying lots of baby stuff (most of which you don’t really need).
The best thing you can give your baby during pregnancy is a happy, contented and stress-free mummy. So when colleagues, friends and family ask if you need anything ask for a treatment at Holistic Touch Therapies with Rachel. Or drop a not so subtle hint and leave her webpage/facebook page open on your computer/tablet!
For the purpose of this review, Rachel provided her services free of charge. I only ever recommend products and services that I genuinely rate highly, regardless of any payments or freebies that I may receive. Rachel’s treatments are great value for money and I would absolutely go back and pay for her treatments, even if I’m no longer pregnant!
