On Friday 16 and Saturday 17 June, producers of this Christmas’ Barbican Panto, Robin Hood And The Babes In The Wood, are holding open auditions to find a talented actress to play Maid Marian. The successful auditionee will perform alongside Boyzone’s Shane Lynch, Ben Adams from A1, Ricky Norwood from EastEnders and the rest of the all star cast in the Barbican’s panto.
Anyone aged 17yrs and over can come along on either Friday or Saturday from 11am, and try out for the role. Professional performers and performers in training, and even those with talent but no professional experience, are encouraged to come along to the auditions at the Barbican. This September, producers will be auditioning once again, for children and dancers, to take part in the pantomime. Auditions for child actors to play the ‘babes’ are on Saturday 16 September, and on Sunday 17 September, open auditions for dancers will be looking for young performers ranging from 7yrs to professional ensemble. Robin Hood And The Babes In The Wood stars Shane Lynch from Boyzone, and runs from 21-31 December at the York Barbican, with tickets from just £14. Ben Adams from A1 will play the title role of Robin Hood, with Ricky Norwood (Fatboy from EastEnders), Michael Starke (Corrie and Brookside), Lolly (aka Anna Kumble), Ben Ofoedu (Phats & Small) and Jaz Ellington (The Voice).
