Consider yourself one of the family at Leeds Playhouse this festive season for Lionel Bart’s award-winning musical, Oliver!

Based on the novel by Charles Dickens, Oliver! follows the story of a small boy with a big heart as he journeys from a desolate workhouse to the paved streets of Victorian London in search of love and a place to call home.

Featuring memorable songs such as ‘Food, Glorious Food’, ‘Oom Pah-Pah’, ‘I’d Do Anything’ and the angelic sounds of ‘Where is Love?’, Oliver! is a heart-warming theatrical masterpiece suitable for all.

James Brining directs this timeless large-scale musical following the spectacular success of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – The Musical.

Leeds Playhouse – The Enormous Crocodile

The ENORMOUS crocodile is weaving his way through the jungle in search of delicious little fingers and squidgy podgy knees. his new musical version of Roald Dahl’s picture book has tasty tunes by Ahmed Abdullahi Gallab and has a rib-tickling book and lyrics by Suhayla El-Bushra, and additional music and lyrics by Tom Brady. Developed and Directed by Emily Lim, it features a menagerie of mischievous puppets by co-director and puppetry designer Toby OliĂ©, set and costume design by Fly Davis. The jungle awaits the bravest of children!

Wakefield’s very own pantomime returns for 2023. You can expect dazzling sets, spectacular costumes and the good old belly laughs that you have come to know and love.

In the kingdom of Wakeyland people rejoice as Old King Cole announces the arrival of a baby princess. The fairies are called to bestow blessings upon the babe – but one fairy, Nocturna, has other ideas. A terrible curse is placed upon the child and the King lives in fear for his daughter’s life.
