Blossom & Bee Trail at Nostell

Explore the family trail and uncover some fun facts about the incredible honeybee as you buzz around the gardens and through the woodland play area, completing activities and games along the way. Find out about the role of the workers, drones and the queen bee and experience the sounds of a busy beehive. Once youâve completed the trail, head to the Orangery to have a go at some fun craft activities* and head to the bottom of the kitchen garden to see the fruit trees in full bloom.

Throughout the last year Tom Bailey has been turning stories from across the Wakefield area into illustrations that you can see on the walls of the Moving Stories exhibition. Now itâs your turn to add your story to the mix.

Our Welly Walk leads you from the stepping stones to the Cavendish Pavilion cafe, taking in bridges, grassland, ancient woodland and riverside paths.

Soak up the spring light on a stroll from Fountains Abbey to Studley Royal Water Garden. The dramatic abbey ruins at Fountains are the largest monastic ruins in the country.
Spring is a colourful time of year in Studley Royal water garden. Follow the gentle banks of the River Skell down from the abbey to the garden, which has been channelled into canals, cascades and tranquil moon ponds. There is a real sense of peace on this walk.

Whenever we go on a walk where there are ducks, they are always being fed by people of all ages! It is such a good activity to get some fresh air and run off some energy with the kids (as well as being FREE!!)
The zoo is home is over 120 animals from lemurs to reindeers and is a really personal, friendly facility where children can get really close to the animals.
There are great adventure playgrounds, a cafe and a huge sandpit area.
We enjoyed a day out here so much that we had our little boys 3rd Birthday at the zoo!
