After a play in the playground we went on the search for the start of the trail … luckily it wasn’t far away and just down towards the lake from the playground! We were met by a large wooden sculpture of a boy named Peter and a plaque asking us to help him find his lost Peregrine!
Note – the correct way around the trail is to head down towards the M62 in direction!!
The trail follows the footpath around the edge of the racecourse (it’s around 2 miles all the way round) and is perfectly fine for buggies and bikes! Along the way there are different wooden animals helping you and Peter find the next animal clue. Each animal is accompanied by a plaque that contains the story which is a rhyming story too – our favourite!!
I love that the sculptures are large and robust as they are great for kids to climb onto and sit on for that all important photo!!
Of course we did find the Peregrine … if you’re wondering it’s around the finish line of race course.
