We’d had a good run, Tiny was settled into her swimming class and I’d managed to get Grandma booked in to come with us every week to make my life easier. Then I messed up my dates and arranged a meeting during our lesson thinking that the class wasn’t on.
The great thing about Puddle Ducks is that you can go online and book a holiday if like me you’ve suddenly become forgetful and a bit of mess (I swear they took out my memory when I gave birth!). When you book a holiday you get a catch-up voucher so you can reschedule your lesson for another day that week or even double up one week so that you don’t lose out. The only thing you can’t do is take them when you aren’t currently within a block of lessons.
I have a few voucher lessons in my account due to pool closures and me being slack! So I booked Tiny in for another lesson with a different teacher at the same pool. It’s always good to go to other lessons and try different pools. I also really enjoy seeing the older children swimming confidently and splashing about in the lesson before ours so it was nice to see a different class to see what they were up to.
I enjoyed the class just as much as usual, unfortunately, Grandma wasn’t with us and I had mistimed Tiny’s feeds so she was very grumpy. I managed to submerge her once but that was it, she was a little bit sick in the pool too (it happens) and yes I did die a bit inside! Our teacher was great though and handed me a wipe (I caught most of it with my hand) and skimmed the pool to catch any bits that had floated off. We were back to the class within a few minutes. I decided to get Tiny out during at the end during splashtime as she was seriously annoyed by this point. All babies have their moments, it was just her turn this week!
Another great thing about Puddle Ducks is that they encourage you to read your baby’s cues. I never felt under pressure to make Tiny continue when she was fussing, I just did what she would happily go along with and if she was grumpy I stopped.
After the class, I stayed and fed her whilst chatting to the teacher and poolside assistant about lessons for Mini Mumbler who is 4. I found out that Puddle Ducks have started a new swim academy level 1 session at the same pool, there was space and when you have multiple children at Puddle ducks your get a 10% sibling discount! Winner!
So after the Easter Holidays, Mini Mumbler is going to her first Puddle Ducks lesson. She is so excited, I’m a little nervous as it will be her first time in the water without me. I’ll let you know how it goes!
£20 off Puddle Ducks for newbies, just quote Wakefield MUMbler on booking.
In return for writing this series of blogs we were given a free block of Puddle Ducks lessons for Tiny Mumbler. You’ll probably know by now that whilst we wouldn’t bad mouth anyone, we always tell the truth in our reviews- even if we had a freebie or even got paid!
We love going to Puddle Ducks which is why I have decided to continue with Tiny’s lessons and sign up Mini Mumbler for the swim academy-all paid for!
