Our lovely little cafĂ© serves hot and cold food and drinks, ice cream and slush all day, so you can stay fuelled and relax in one of our picnic areas between activities.
Attracting groups of all ages from 6yrs+, BPF offers a huge variety of outdoor activities in the beautiful 720 acre woodland setting of Bawtry Forest. Activities include; Target and Zombie Archery, outdoor Laser Combat, Rifle Shooting, Tomahawk Axe and Knife Throwing, Junior âlow-impactâ Paintballing, a 53ft Climbing Wall, Paintball Mini-Tank Battles, a huge Tree-Trek and Zipline Park with 50ft leap-of-faith, and of course regular Paintballing. BPF is also home of the infamous Predator!
Our award-winning paintball and laser combat game zones are like something out of a Hollywood movie. Props include real Lynx, Wessex and Huey helicopters, 42 ex-MOD armoured vehicles, tanks, castles, and a tree-top fortress.

Situated in the heart of the town centre, Castleford Museum is housed on the upper floors of the striking Carnegie Library. We have plenty to interest all ages, including dressing-up items, a collection of history books for various age ranges, kidsâ craft sheets, historical toys and interactive displays.
Tuesday mornings (10am to 11am) during term-time are Toddler Tuesdays! Bring along your little ones aged 2 to 5 for storytelling and rhymes related to a different museum object every week. There will be fun creative and sensory activities for you to try together.
We also run Relaxed Openings every Friday morning 9.30am to 12pm (including school holidays). These are for anyone who would prefer to visit the Museum in a quieter, more relaxed setting. During the school holidays we have the same relaxed Friday provision but with extra activities and trails designed for SEND families.
Every Saturday 11am until 3pm join us for Family Fun crafts, inspired by the objects around us in the Museum.

Find out about the story of coal and how it changed our nation forever. Unearth the stories of life as a coal miner and what it was like to live in a mining community. Every tour âdarn pitâ is led by an ex-miner with loads of experience, heâll take you 140m underground through 180 years of mining.
In the galleries you will see the evolution of the mines and their communities. Investigate the mechanical workings of the pit through interactive models and the giant machinery. Strike up a conversation with our Blacksmiths then relax and reflect in the Minersâ Memorial Garden.
Listen to the birds sing as you walk through woods and reed beds that help clean the mine water. Meet our ponies and horse then let off steam in the Adventure Playground!

National Trust Nostell is a Georgian treasure house, with landscaped gardens, parkland and stables courtyard.
Nostell is one of the greatest treasure houses of the north of England, surrounded by 300 acres of parkland and gardens. Created as an ambitious statement by the Winn family between 1725 and 1785, generations added to the richness of the house, from Robert Adam interiors and a world-class collection of Thomas Chippendale furniture, to priceless paintings and antique curiosities.
Become a Damage Detective and learn about all the things that can damage an old house like Nostell, from dust to light to little bugs, on our new house trail.
Beyond the house, thereâs lots to discover. You can wander through the Kitchen Garden and marvel at the towering banana trees. Make the most of your day and explore acres of parkland, grab a bite in the Courtyard CafĂ©, or get your muscles moving in the Play Area.
Nostell also has a shop and a second-hand bookstore.
Entry and parking is free for National Trust members. For non-members there is a parking fee of ÂŁ5, with additional admission charges for the house and gardens.
