We’re having another Fun Day @ The Ruddy Duck sponsored by the Creation Station Wakefield.
We have a great line up of free family activities including sand pit, kids crafts and goody bags.
A small charge for bouncy caste and soft play, face painting, hook a duck (everyone’s a winner), candy floss, raffle, lucky dip.
We will have some nearly new car boot stalls, including a local childminder that is closing her business and has lots of beautiful, pre-loved toys.
Plus learn to read love to read will have a stall selling Usborne Books.
The Ruddy Duck are putting on some great activities and offers including;
I have always been a bit ‘crafty’ from been little, constantly wanting to make the Blue Peter creations from the TV and always getting messy.
I discovered The Creation Station whilst on maternity leave 3 years ago and I have been running my business for over 2 years now after it popped on Facebook for sale – I think it was fate as I was looking for other things to do whilst been at home (like I’m sure lots of us do – who wants to return after maternity!).
My background is community development and family support. I always wanted that bit more from been employed and wanted to take the challenge of running my own business.
I love running my classes and it’s great to get to know all the children and parents. It’s wonderful to see the development of each child and how their confidence and skills grow each week.
‘We have been attending now every Friday for around 9 weeks and we both absolutely love it.
Both my confidence and Jack’s has really improved both with his behaviour and it has encouraged me to try more crafty activities at home too.
I was a little apprehensive about how good I would be at supporting Jack in the activities as I do not feel that I am a very creative person but Abbie explains the activities really well and the sessions are structured perfectly.
Abbie is really perceptive to know when to step in and help out and when to give you and your child the space you need.
The class is great for socialising for both children and adults – everyone is really nice and it is a relaxed atmosphere – anything goes!
We really love taking home the craft we have made every week and have a display at home of our creations.
Jack is always really pleased to show his Dad what we have made. Jack has benefitted in terms of the practical skills he has picked up such as using scissors, it has helped his concentration and also helped loads with his socialisation.
I don’t work on a Friday so that is my special day with Jack and I love that we have the wonderful activity to share at The Creation Station’.
My business can be quite varied which keeps me very busy.
As well as running my baby and toddler weekly classes I also offer after school ‘Create Clubs’, Arty Parties, adult craft sessions and can provide craft activities and workshops for businesses too.
So in a week I can often inspire people from 0-100 years!
At the Mumbler family fun day there will be some fun crafty activities for you and your little ones to join in with. We will be making some masks and using our famous ‘noodle doodles’!
It’s great to be involved with the Mumbler network and I have met lots of other mummies that run their own businesses which is a great support.
I love meeting all the families that come along too and offering them an opportunity to get creative with their little ones.
