We’re in January, the start of 2019 and we usually have losing weight and getting fit at the top of those resolution lists but maybe we just haven’t gotten there yet!
Let me give you a bit of inspiration to something I achieved last year, and that I am really proud of and it may help you take that next step!
My New Year’s Resolution for 2018 was to start running! I hadn’t done any exercise for ages and as Mini Mumbler was getting faster on his bike I needed a way to keep up with him! (Think Mum running after fast toddler and nearly passing out!)
There was no way I would commit to running by myself, especially in the winter, and running clubs … well they were for professionals and they wouldn’t welcome someone like me!
I spotted a post for a 0 – 5km course with Comets and thought maybe this was the best route for me! I was so glad I signed up!!! It was a ladies only group, everyone was starting at the same level and we just built up to running very gently, starting with intervals of walking and running!
It was amazing! Before I knew it, I was running for 30 mins, non-stop, twice a week and then within 2 weeks of finishing the 10-week course I did Wakey 10k and ran the whole way, even up the hill to the Horbury turn!!
The course was amazing, I have met so many friendly ladies and I am still running … in a running club!!
Comets have their next Fun, Fit, Five Course starting on 21st January at The Cluntergate Centre, Horbury Click here for more information
I hope this helps someone take that next step xx
