Come along and enjoy a fun day with a great variety of science-based activities down at Queen’s Mill. This is a fantastic opportunity to sample many interesting activities with guests from science backgrounds to help you along.
Some of the exciting activities include:
Rainbow in a Test Tube – learn about water density and use sugar and food colouring to make a rainbow in a test tube.
Plant Doctors – look through microscopes and learn about how plants get sick and what we can do to help.
Chromatography Flowers – watch how you can separate the chemicals in felt tip pens using a solution (water) and take home a flower craft based on these principles.
Making Waterwheels – visit the Queen’s Mill Waterwheel to learn more about waterwheels, and then have a go at making your own and watch it turn.
All activities are on a drop-in basis, and visitors can move from one to another throughout their visit, doing as many as they are interested in.
