Come along on Saturday 2nd February to a charity race night to raise money for two great charities, all organised by Becky Gunn.
I’ll be running the London Marathon in April for these charities and would be eternally grateful for any support in my fundraising efforts.
The Charities
1) Tommy’s provide support to parents and fund research into miscarriage and premature birth and fund midwives to support parents and families affected.
2) Ronald McDonald House Charities are a fab charity who provide free ‘home from home’ accommodation for parents whose children are in hospital.
What’s a Race Night?
For anyone who hasn’t been to a race night before, all you really need to know that they are good fun! Horse races are shown on a big screen with odds for each horse ‘calculated’. Each race features 8 horses with one of them winning. Anyone who has bet on that horse will win some of the money back (based on odds) and the rest of the takings will go towards the charity. Before each race the audience can buy “betting tickets” for their chosen horse, usually each ticket costs 50p or £1. Horses can be bought prior to the race night for £2 and the ‘owners’ of the winning horse each race will also win a prize 🙂 In a nutshell it’s not as confusing as it sounds, it’s good fun, and it’s in a WMC so drinks are cheap 🙂
Tickets
Tickets are now on sale at £7 per adult and £5 per child (under 12) and will include food. Tickets must be purchased in advance either by giving me cash or online through PayPal paypal.me/pools/c/88FRY7ncw9 – send me a message on FB or post on the event page and I can put tickets aside for you!
There will also be a raffle with a bunch of great prizes.
