Diggerland is the perfect place to go for an action packed family day out this summer. Experience the variety of rides and drives on offer – whether it’s testing your driving skills on a Dumper Truck, hanging tight on the world famous Spindizzy ride, or hooking a duck using the controls of a digger all whilst sitting in the cab, there really is something for all ages!

2. Stockeld Park Summer Adventure
Stockeld Park is nature’s playground, where nothing is quite as it seems! With magical surprises at every turn, this is a place to spark even the wildest of imaginations! Our Park is home to an Enchanted Forest, adventure playgrounds galore, go karts and outdoor inflatables!
COVID-19 Update: Stockeld Park will re-open on the 18th July 2020. Capacity will be restricted in order to maintain the Government’s safety standards. Steps to ensure a COVID secure site – handwashing and sanitising stations have been installed throughout, and social distancing measures are in place. For more details on the opening click here.

Following the latest government guidance, we can’t wait to welcome you back on the 1st of August for lots of summer fun! We’ll be reducing the amount of visitors on site so tickets will be limited and we will be taking online bookings only.
A visit to Piglets Adventure Farm will be a little different from usual but still packed full of family fun & adventure, including;

Admission currently includes: Pixie Village Trail, Adventure Playground, Cave, Petrifying Well, Wishing Well and Gift Shop.
Visitors must pre-book an arrival slot and will be given 2.5 hours to explore the attraction. £25 per car term-time weekdays, £30 per car weekends and school holidays (max 7 people per car), including parking. Picnics are welcome, ice creams and drinks are also available to purchase within the attraction. Toilets will be open.
Dogs are welcome everywhere except the adventure playground and must be kept on a lead.
There are three sets of steps in the attraction which are not wheelchair accessible and pushchairs must be parked at the bottom of these steps – we recommend bringing a sling.
Hop along to Grass Hoppers Outdoor Play at Tong Garden Centre for a proper playtime. Have a bounce on the jumping pillows, zoom down the zip wire, glide down the slides, explore our giant fort, drive around the race tracks and much more!
Grass Hoppers is set in a secure environment with outdoor seating, although we welcome picnics, we still have our delicious selection of hot food available.

Kirklees Lights Railway is a 15” narrow gauge railway set in the South Pennine foothills, only 20 minutes from the centre of Wakefield. On trains there will be at least 1.2m between each ‘social bubble’ travelling on the trains and adults and children over 11 years old will be asked to wear face masks. Adventure playgrounds at Shelley and Clayton West will be open with capacity restrictions in place. The Clayton Flyer will be taking visitors around the duck pond and refreshments are available to pre-order.

8. The Maize Maze
Open from 18th July. Set in beautiful countryside next to Cannon Hall Country Park, 5-10 minutes off the M1. Each year there is a new design and puzzle and this year it will be a special tribute to the NHS. Complete the challenge to get out!
COVID-19 Update – This year there are many more open spaces so that visitors can pass each other safely and maintain social distancing. There is lots of space in the games field for picnics and a daily BBQ offering homemade burgers and an ice cream cart with fresh home-made ice cream. Pre-booking is not required but numbers will be controlled on the day.

Wildlife World, gardens and estate grounds are now open at Lotherton. To make sure it is as safe as possible entry to Lotherton will be limited each day. Pre booked tickets required. Updates will be provided daily on social media channels as soon as tickets sell out. Please note that if the day tickets have sold out, they will only be accepting members, so please check before you travel.
The playground will re-open on the 16th July, the hall remains closed currently. The toilets on site will be open between 9am-5pm each day.
